Eli Zaragoza
Eli Zaragoza, originally from Owasso, Oklahoma, is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Percussion. Mr. Zaragoza is an active educator, clinician, and performer throughout the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas. He currently serves as the Assistant Percussion Director for Muskogee Public Schools and performs with the Muskogee Community Band.
While attending the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Zaragoza performed with a variety of ensembles, including the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Orchestra, Symphony Band, Steel Bands, Civic Orchestra, and the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. His collegiate performance experiences included appearances in the University of Oklahoma Young Artists Competition, Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society events, and multiple performances at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in 2025.
Mr. Zaragoza also performed as a member of two nationally recognized Drum and Bugle Corps organizations. He marched bass drum with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2022 and Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 2025.
As an educator, Mr. Zaragoza has worked with numerous band programs throughout Oklahoma, including Washington, Durant, Altus, and Elk City Public Schools. He also served as Battery Percussion Coordinator at Southmoore High School during the 2025–26 indoor percussion season. In addition to teaching at summer band camps throughout the state, he serves on the percussion staff of the Texoma Marching Arts and Leadership Academy in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Mr. Zaragoza is committed to building a percussion program that encourages excellence, growth, and achievement while creating meaningful educational experiences for students. Eli currently resides in Muskogee, OK, with his two tuxedo cats, Boomer and Sooner.
