Jason Stinson
Jason Stinson is an active educator, arranger, clinician, adjudicator, and performer throughout the greater Tulsa area. He currently serves as the Percussion Coordinator for Muskogee Public Schools and performs with the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra and the Tulsa Brass Band. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Stinson has served as a clinician for numerous universities, high schools, and the Oklahoma Music Educators Association Winter Conference.
Mr. Stinson is also a member of the instructional staff at the Texoma Marching Arts and Leadership Academy in Ardmore, Oklahoma. This annual camp serves more than 400 drum majors, percussionists, wind players, and color guard members from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Arkansas. His responsibilities include arranging and writing for multiple performing ensembles, teaching tenor percussion sectionals, instructing one of the camp’s audition-based drumlines, and coordinating field percussion instruction for the leadership track.
Mr. Stinson earned both his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Percussion Education degrees from East Central University, where he studied under Dr. Ben Finley and Dr. Nick Meyers.
He is proudly endorsed as an educational artist with Black Swamp Percussion, Salyers/Encore Percussion, and DREAM Cymbals. Mr. Stinson serves as an elected officer for the Oklahoma Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society and maintains active membership in numerous professional organizations, including the Percussive Arts Society, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Eastern District Band Directors Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
Mr. Stinson resides in Coweta, Oklahoma, with his wife, Kadie, and their labradoodle, Dug.
